Hospital-like Software... but exponentially more!

Nurse² is NOT hospital software molded to the educational environment.
Nurse² IS hospital-like software developed FOR the educational environment. It contains many of the features similar to hospital software but the focus is on student learning and allowing instructors to spend time instructing and not maintaining software. That’s the key difference that makes nurse² what it is- Education Software for Nursing Students… and Instructors.

Hospital-like Electronic Documentation with an emphasis on learning– Students learn to document electronically as they perform nursing actions in multiple areas of documentation. All areas of documentation are available for Med Surg and Pediatrics, from Admission History through Discharge. Typical hospital “Policy and Procedure”, and the forms to adhere to those policies, realistically mirror actual hospital criteria.

Where appropriate, the software interacts with the student to help guide documentation. Rather than just "bare-bones" documentation, the software adds educational components to the assessment areas.

Anatomical images teach proper terminology and complete assessment criteria- Wounds, Drains and Tubes, Ostomies, IV assessments and Injection Site Locations feature charting on images. As students click on the image, proper nomenclature for that body area is automatically displayed. Proper, type-specific assessment criteria are available for each of these areas.

Scales and evidence-based tools used in hospitals - Pain Assessment (10-point scale, FACES and FLACC), Braden Scale for Predicting Pressure Sore Risk©, Fall Risk Assessment, Glasgow Coma Scale, Growth Charts and many others.

Patient Teaching documentation – Develops teaching skills and documentation of this very important aspect of nursing.

Patient card – This electronic “Kardex ®-like” area teaches the importance of communication among nurses for individualized, safe patient care.

CarePlan construction – Teaches the nursing process and critical thinking in planning patient care.

Order Entry area – Teaches typical computer ordering skills for ordering labs and other ancillary departmental orders.

Intra-departmental relationships – Through the scenarios, the Order Review and Results area teaches the importance of intra-departmental communication and team cooperation for excellent patient care.

Research area – Allows students to easily look-up Lab and Diagnostic Test criteria.

"MyClinicals"– Allows students to create their own patients and gives them the capability to document on those newly created patients during their clinicals at the hospital.
